Envisioning a Healthier Anderson County

About

LiveHealthy Anderson County

LiveHealthy Anderson County is a community coalition working to improve Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL) throughout Anderson County. Established in 2024, the coalition grew out of the Anderson Safety Net Council and a partnership with The Duke Endowment.

LiveHealthy Anderson County brings together community organizations, local leaders, healthcare providers, and residents to address local health needs and expand opportunities for healthier lives. Rather than duplicating existing services, the coalition supports community initiatives, identifies gaps, and helps connect partners with the resources and support they need.

Through this work, LiveHealthy Anderson County is working toward a future where everyone in Anderson County has the opportunity to live a healthier life.

Our Mission

Healthy Living for All

LiveHealthy Anderson County’s mission centers on two community results, supported by two workgroups working to advance Healthy Eating and Active Living:

All people in Anderson County have access to nutrition and education that supports their health and well-being.

All people in Anderson County have engaging, safe spaces to move and play, benefiting their body and mind.

Our Approach

Working Together for Change

Our work is guided by three priorities: bringing people together, supporting community initiatives, and advocating for the resources and opportunities Anderson County needs.

Convene

Bring community partners and residents together to share ideas, address local needs, and coordinate efforts.

Support

Provide support for initiatives through resources, volunteer engagement, technical assistance, and other community partnerships.

Advocate

Champion opportunities, resources, and community priorities that advance Healthy Eating and Active Living.

Our Story

From Community Collaboration to a Shared Vision

LiveHealthy Anderson County grew out of a shared commitment to the health and well-being of our community. In 2024, the coalition was formed through the Anderson Safety Net Council and a partnership with The Duke Endowment, bringing a new focus to Healthy Eating and Active Living across Anderson County.

The Anderson Safety Net Council has long brought community partners together to address complex local needs, connect individuals and families with support, and strengthen the network of resources available throughout the county. LiveHealthy Anderson County builds on those collaborative roots, bringing a dedicated focus to the conditions and opportunities that support healthier lives.

A Community Comes Together

LiveHealthy Anderson County brings together people with different experiences, perspectives, and knowledge of the community. Their input helps keep the coalition’s work connected to the needs and priorities of local residents.”

Moving Toward a Healthier Anderson County

As LiveHealthy Anderson County continues to grow, our story will be shaped by the people who participate, the initiatives taking shape, and the needs of the community.
